Event Description:

Mr. Don Graves, speaker, is a WWII survivor of the battle of Iwo Jima. He entered the Marine Corp upon hearing that Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor. He was 19 years old when he, carrying a 70 lb. flame thrower strapped to his back, was in the third wave of Marines to land on Iwo Jima. He tells of the conditions of the landing and the fierce battle to overtake the island. The fighting lasted 36 days resulting in 26,000 men wounded and 6800 Marines dead.

 10th Patriotic Speaker Series Dinner on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on board the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay. Tables of 10 are $1000.00; individual tickets are $75.00 and $50.00 for active military. The deadline for reservations is January 31, 2018.
